A centrifugal fan is a quiet fan. It’s fit for many applications. If you need one for a future project, this guide will steer you in the right direction.
The Blades
There are four types of blades for these fans. Each option serves a specific purpose.
The Radial Blade
A radial blade is designed for industrial, high-pressure fans. It can eliminate gas and dust.
A Forward-Curve Blade
This blade is medium-pressure blade. It cleans the air as it ventilates a space.
A Backward-Curve Blade
Backward-curve blades are built for high-efficiency fans. When a system has these blades, its power will drop as the airflow increases.
Airfoil Blades
Airfoil blades are made for top-of-line ventilation systems. If you need to improve the overall air quality in a space, these are the best blades for the job.
The Blower
The blower is important because it powers the fan. Here are your options for a blower.
A Direct Drive
A direct drive is a practical choice because
• It has fewer components.
• It’s easy to assemble.
• It’s highly efficient and reliable.
• It does not require a lot of maintenance.
A Belt Drive
A belt drive is more efficient, and it’s larger than a direct drive. Also, you can pair it with a variable pitch motor.
The Environments
These fans will perform well in
• Outdoor environments
• Dusty environments
• Hazardous environments
• Environments with corrosion properties.
