If you are looking at specialty finishing services, chances are you have a specific purpose in mind. You have an idea or ideal your company wishes the product to obtain or reflect. Unlike standard finishing, specialty services allow companies to express more clearly the qualities and/or characteristics of their company, its brands, and its ideals.

Going That Extra Step

Finishing can involve different processes. This includes polishing, buffing, and/or stamping. However, for many companies, the application of a specialty coating is what they are looking for to provide them with a truly finished component. Many companies request a specialty coating for one of two reasons:

  1. Aesthetic: They want to create a certain look. Finishers can design a coating to achieve the appearance the company wants. The latest coatings are able to produce an appearance that is visually pleasing. It can have a certain textural quality and be an explicit color. It can also reflect a certain theme.
  2. Performance Enhancer: Specialty finishing services frequently apply their skills to provide a coating designed to enhance the overall performance of a component. When applied at the right thickness, a powder coating, for example, can improve the ability of many metals to endure a harsh environment. It can reduce corrosion and improve the component’s longevity.

This does not mean the two most common reasons for seeking out specialty finishing companies are incompatible. In fact, a component can be both aesthetically appealing and fully functional in even the harshest or most challenging environments. A classic example is an architectural coating.

Specialty Finishing Services

Today, many companies want to go beyond the obvious. While many are content to have a product that is either aesthetically pleasing or functional, many want the two possibilities to mesh into a single entity. By turning to a company providing specialty finishing services it is possible to have a component that meets functionality without losing its surface appeal.
