If you have been considering gummy bear breast implants, you are probably wondering what the recovery time is like. It’s a common concern among those who get breast implants that the recovery time will be long or painful – or both. Let’s put those fears to rest. Here’s what you can expect for the first six weeks after getting implants.
Week One
So long as you don’t need to continue taking pain medication for post-surgery soreness, you can begin driving again about 48 hours after the implant procedure. During the first week, you’ll need to do displacement exercises, which are just massage techniques that ensure the results look the best they can. There will be at least one follow-up visit during this time.
Week Two
By the time week two rolls around, you should be able to resume most of your regular daily activities, such as going back to work. You will be advised to avoid heavy lifting or very intense activity at this time, but your general work day can resume. You’ll continue to do those exercises to ensure that your gummy bear breast implants look their best.
Week Three
During week three, you’ll probably still be told to avoid upper body exercises such as weightlifting or push-ups. But at this time, you should be feeling pretty normal. You’ll be encouraged to resume more of your daily activities and to continue those displacement exercises.
Weeks Four to Six
It takes about four weeks to see the final results of the gummy bear breast implants. At this time, the implants will look more natural, and you should no longer have any pain. During these weeks, you can start to get back to your usual workout routine, and you can also switch from wearing surgical bras back to a typical supportive bra. By the time you get to week six, you can usually resume running, weightlifting, and other exercises.
Getting Back to Normal
It can take about 12 weeks to get completely back to normal with all activities, and about two years for all the scarring to fade – but that is not very long in the grand scheme of feeling more confident with your body for the rest of your life.
