Many freshman students are under the assumption that the only place to live when they attend college is in a dorm. However, this is simply not the case. In fact, the best choice that they can make is to move into ECU off-campus housing. There are many reasons why this is so.

Bring Your Pets

It can be difficult to live far away from your furry friends for such a long period. However, when you live in a dorm, you don’t have a choice. On the other hand, when you live in a student apartment, you can generally bring your pet as long as you pay a deposit that is refunded when you move out.

Better Food

While pre-paid meal plans might SOUND like a great idea, they can get very boring very quickly with the redundancy of the cafeteria food that you’re stuck with. By living in your own apartment, you can cook your own food whenever you want. This is especially beneficial if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.

No Need To Leave On Breaks

When you live on campus, you are forced to vacate during breaks, such as those over the winter holidays or during spring break. This can be extremely inconvenient if you only have people far away with whom you can stay or if you have a job that you work. When you live in ECU off-campus housing, this is not a concern at all. You can live there until your lease is up.
